Holi – Festival of Colours

Our centres celebrated Holi by creating festival of colours based activities that are designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities, whilst having fun!

Last week one of our QLD based centres,聽聽organized Holi for the children.

The children loved Holi as it promotes children鈥檚 awareness, engagement and understanding of diversity whilst also providing a fun and safe activity for the children to enjoy.

Emma Niceski, Assistant Centre Manager, at Papilio Early Learning Robina said, 鈥淲e celebrate the Holi festival each year with a colour run. Our children and educators all wear white shirts, and we go out into our yards to begin the fun. Our families and children look forward to it each year鈥.

聽in QLD recognised Holi with their children by reading a story about it and participating in a colour run outside.

Telesia Leaupepe, Assistant Centre Manager, at Papilio Early Learning Lutwyche said, 鈥淭he Holi festival is about colours and love as well as having fun. The children and educators came together as a community and centre to celebrate this festival and culture. To see so much learning and having serious fun was very rewarding.鈥

聽in NSW recognised Holi with their children by participating in a wide range of activities from colour painting, sensory play and creating their own Rangoli, mixing of colours, Holi festival colour run and Henna.

Ashlee Unwin, Centre Manager at Papilio Early Learning Meadowbank said, 鈥淭he children鈥檚 favourite activity was the colour run. The children were taught about various colours and the significance of rangoli, where they learnt how to celebrate diverse cultural events.鈥
