Aussie Kindies Centre Raises Money for Water Tank Project

The students and staff of Aussie Kindies Early Learning Kyabram went above and beyond with their fundraising efforts in 2020, where they managed to raise over $870 for a community endeavour 鈥 the Kyabram Water Tank Project!

Through several arts and crafts projects, sold off in auctions to parents and friends, the little learners of Aussie Kindies Early Learning Kyabram enjoyed a hands-on experience contributing to their community. Inspired by the success of the Silo Art Trail, the KY Project Committee formed three years ago to investigate the feasibility of painting a mural in Kyabram to attract more visitors and reinvigorate the town.

In addition to the art pieces (now in the hands of some lucky art collectors!), which were sold for about $50 each, the kids were able to gather funds by selling indoor plants and even Christmas-themed 鈥渞eindeer food鈥. And, to help them along just that little bit further, owner 黑料专区 contributed $500 to their fundraising endeavours.

Aussie Kindies educator Karen Brumby, who has followed the project since it was announced, said it was a rewarding experience for the kids.

鈥淐reating that sense of belonging and the connection to community was the most important thing. Getting involved with a local project was the perfect way for our children to experience that.鈥 she said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 all very exciting that it鈥檚 about to start the painting stage. I hope we鈥檒l be able to take the kids down for an excursion to see it get painted.鈥

Ms Brumby said due to the success of last year鈥檚 campaign, the organisation was open to running a similar venture in the near future.

鈥淲e have a lot of new children this year, so we will start to talk to them about the project and show them some photos, just like the kids we had last year,鈥 she said.

鈥淭he connection with the community has been really good. It feels really nice to have that and to pass it along to the kids. We鈥檒l definitely be keeping our eyes open for different things we can support and be a part of.鈥
